Getting Kicked, G_Spawn: no free entities

After I am playing in a server for about 1 or 2 rounds I get kicked and this message pops up on my screen.

"NOTICE ReaperOfsoul G_Spawn: no free entities"

I read the readme file that comes with the game and saw no errors mention like this.

    Any clues?

    -Thanks

Try some Google searches...from just a quick glance at the topics that came up, it looks like a problem from COD2, COD4, and other games.

Ya all the threads that I looked at where posted by people who were having problems with custom content, sound file issues, script issues, or to many things spawning.

I could not really find anything that pertained to WaW or anything that I was doing at the time I got these errors.

I guess I'll go make a post over a callofduty.com and see what happens.

I saw your thread, and linked to 2 more with the same issue. Hopefully someone at Treyarch will find the problem (hopefully it is just too many entities existing in the map at the same time).

Re: Getting Kicked, G_Spawn: no free entities

it probably stems from no spawn points being available (too many people waiting to be spawned at once - using all the points) or someone standing over a spawn point.

A good test would be to raise the time to respawn to see if it happens more (because more people will be waiting to spawn if the time is longer)

i got it too on the myis server

Yeah, this seems to happen most in servers with higher numbers of players.

I was playing that Chinese map, (castle I think) and it only had 10 our of 30 players on and I got it.

This link explains the error and why it occurs.

Basically the best admins can do right now is to have somewhat short round times as well as lowering the total number of players allowed.

Not much can be done about it right now.

Re: Getting Kicked, G_Spawn: no free entities

I haven't read the link above, so forgive me if I'm repeating info. From what I've been told by some knowledgeable server admins, G_Spawn Entities isn't just a single player getting kicked. Everyone on the server is kicked, and the server basically stalls out.

According to them, it's not a problem on the user's end, it's with the game/server.

Good news is that there are a lot of servers that have not yet ever crashed with this G_Spawn problem (+3 days), so it seems to suggest that it's something in the config/settings. I'm sure they'll have it figured out for an early patch.

Was going to post this as well but you beat me to it. We got this error on our server and I changed the configs with aforementioned fix suggestions. Haven't had it since. But, it could be that our server is Hardcore with no dogs or tanks now as well.

One server that I was on had some sort of script that kept the server from dumping all the clients when this happened... anyone know about it?

Explain it more... did the console just say some text like 'preventing g_spawn entity' or something then do a fast_restart ? (the map 'restarted' so you had to pick a team again) ?

If so then that's just a pb_sv_task - but it helps for some people... we're not entirely sure what the cause of the problem is, and some 'fixes' don't usually always work, like some servers have crashed within a few minutes of starting up... :/

Yes. That is what it did, but it didn't drop any clients, which is a plus.

I read somewhere (I think callofduty.com) that the error was thrown when the total number of objects on the map exceeds 1024. This includes tanks, dogs, people, etc. They went on to say that this only happened on servers with more than 32 slots.

Still, that fix kept a full server full.
