So, have you guys been using this thing at all, and if so, what do you think?

Yeah, I think it's worthwhile.

What's this about some names may change? I had read that although all stats, ranks, and perqs would be gone, the names were being kept. You have new/better information?

Everything gets wiped out, including profile names:

Will our XP / accounts / friends transfer over from the BETA?
No, all accounts will be deleted after the BETA, just like on the Xbox 360.

So those who buy the full version will then have the opportunity to make their profile names again. In some cases, a few names could possibly be already taken (and some people here may not buy it), so we would need a fresh list.

That's a bummer. I pre-ordered it, so they won't even ship it until the 11th I suppose. I'll be a little torqued if my name is gone.

I think this list was a good idea. The friend thing was a bit flakey in the beta. When I set filters to show people playing and where, it would show some, but not all, even though they were in different servers.

Im sure they will fix that over time though.

I agree, some of the bugs I saw:
- if someone sent me a friend request, when I went into the list and added them, some friend who was already in the list would have their name duplicated over and over again in the list (ie. CptainCrunch would show up 15 times, with different statuses)
- I would sometimes see a friend listed as playing on a particular server, but looking at Server Info, he was not there
- I would sometimes do the friends filter to see who was in a server, and the list would come up blank, even though there were several players online and in-game.

Anyway, when the full game comes out tomorrow, I'll make a fresh list for us to add our profile names to.
