Server authentication error?

Is any one getting this when they try to join a server. I get this error most of the time when I try to join any server.

Pieman had this earlier. Try waiting 15-20 mins, then create a new profile name and try again.

Also, anyone getting this should try doing a manual Punkbuster update. Be sure to add "COD5" with the Add Game button. Then run the update again, just in case.

At least one guy claims this solved his problem.

I've tried that, and it did not work. I still regularly get these problems, along with the g spawn entities error. How they missed this pre beta I'll neva know!

These kinds of issues are not that hard to miss. We're seeing them a lot now because there are massive numbers of people playing...this kind of coverage can't be duplicated by in-house QA/testing. Most people don't have authentication issues, and the G Spawn bug is still relatively uncommon/pattern hasn't been found yet.

I agree they should've done this earlier (in a perfect world), but this is what the Beta is for, and hopefully these issues will have fixes ready in the first patch.

Someone posted this "simple" solution...hey, anything is worth a shot:

OK guys I have heard a lot of people are having problems connecting to the server. Well as an experienced helper and coder (don't code anymore) i found the best and the mos simple solution. OK guys here is the step by step solution:

1. Restore COD: Waw back to its original settings. (Ex: If you hit run as admin or anything else change back)
2. Start COD: WaW normally
3. Hit "Find Game"
4.(Here's the fix) DO NOT REFRESH THE SERVERS. Keep as it is.
5. Choose a server and enjoy playing the Beta

I updated PB AND did the no-refresh thing. Works fine. It sucks having to join servers using 10 minute old info, though.

What's more annoying is the fact that I'm getting this error in the full game, but I never got it on the beta.
Any ideas other than what was suggested for the beta?

That works fine for the full game as well. If for some reason it doesn't, you just have to leave it for 10 minutes.

Everyone remembers the connection errors on the first few days of CoD4, so it's not surprising there are creases to iron out.
