    Clan Tags

Does anyone know a "workaround" to allow you to use clan tags longer than 5 characters?

Put it in your name so you can use a Rank, thats all i really can say for it. Maybe they'll increase it in the real game if they get enough complaints about it.

Ranks? hehe.. I remember back when my clan had "ranks" (over 4 years ago)... it was quite a silly concept. I'm glad we got rid of those.

Hopefully they will raise the clan-tag character limit from the current 4, to a minimum of 5 (since most groups use at least 2 brackets + 3 letters/numbers). 6 or more characters would be even more user-friendly. But it will depend on how they designed the display fields/leaderboards in the game. 4 is just awkward though. :|:

Ranks are an easy way to show seniority/leadership in a clan. We never had ranks in our clan, but there's nothing wrong with them, IMO.

I hope they remove the brackets from the clan tags. Ugly in my opinion, I like tags like:

          #reAct`Zuke
          or
          -R-ZuKe

With universal brackets, there's no creativity/coolness-factor to the tags

Yes the Military forces around the world are quite silly.... :|: But with Whiskey, they are a good idea to show leadership and seniority, even if you arent using them according to real life standards.

I stick to tactical "units", if you will, that use ranks as they would be at the time period. I'll spare myself the argument i had with you and others in the Airborne forums by trying to explain.

True. They should allow whatever brackets/symbols that users want to use. I like the "clean-ness" of []-type brackets, but some of the other stuff used looks good and stands out more. Give the users the choice.

He did not say that, he was referring to them being silly in a video game clan, which they are.

Read the post more carefully next time.

Its a matter of opinion about ranks, and i could care less about yours and his.

But yeah, i think they should allow for some user choice here. Just give us a slot with a bunch of characters so we can put our own brackets () [] {} || ect or heck not even have them and just put a dash or something.

Actually the clan I'm in uses brackets

                    =d][b=Ausden

is my in-game name and I will be pretty unhappy if I have to work around this in the new game. I haven't tried the beta, don't intend to.

It's time for a new game for my collection and this is it.

BF2/2142 had clan tags that let you do what you want.. What was wrong with theirs?!

Also.. I HATE how you can't see the clan tag while you view the servers, or when people type. People associate others with tags, and I like joining servers with other clan players (typically harder to own in). No way to find out until you join!
