Flickering problems all of a sudden

So I recently got a new computer and have had no problems running this game at all up until today. I started getting these black circular spots mostly on the ground, which flicker constantly when I'm moving and it is incredibly annoying. I have changed nothing in the last few days so I don't understand why this is happening. It doesn't seem to be an overheating issue, everything is running at 55 degrees or lower. Here's a picture of it for reference, not my picture but exactly the same problem:

My specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHZ
Radeon HD 4870
4 GB Ram
Windows Vista 32 bit

EDIT: Well it looks like I was too hasty in posting. I managed to fix the problem by enabling AI in the catalyst control center. Yay.

Clear your video cache

My Documents -> Battlefield 2 --> Cache and delete everything inside it

Clear cache first. It may be overheating or a driver issue also.
