I turned it off on COD4 because it made it harder to see.

Plus depth of field decreases performance in CoD4.

I found it very distracting and turned it off. I also found it could give me tunnel-vision...I'd be so concerned with the central threat that I'd miss something in my peripheral vision and get attacked unexpectedly.

MAN, that blur affect seems to hender a lot of people and cause psycological/mental distress. I always turned it off just because it annoyed me. It had some bigger issues I see.
