New headset - New Mic no workie in VOIP

I had a USB Logitech headset, which worked fine in VOIP BF2. That headset died, so I replaced it.

The new headset is Plantronics and it uses two 1/8" miniplugs (one to speakers and one to mic).

I have tested the new Plantronics mic in Windows sound panel and it works perfectly. Additionally, when I test the mic in BF2voipsetup.exe it also works perfectly. However, when starting the game and going into "audio" controls, the mic test will not work. I have tried juggling settings to every conceivable adjustment. When I hit the "Start Microphone Test" I will get a short bit of feedback, for maybe one second, then it stops.

    Any ideas?

    thanks

Are you using Vista? What sondcard do you have?
Someone suggested running as administrator helps, either by changing your windows account type or right clicking on all the bf2voip exe files and selecting properties, compatability and run this program as administrator.

I am using XP Pro. No soundcard, I'm just using the sound on the mobo, which is Asus A8N-SLI.

I looked at properties of the exe files, but found no option in compatibility tab to run as admin.

Thanks for tips. I looked at this thread and did everything there, but still no workie: http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=22188

      Dang weird...................

Have alt tab'd out of the game to see if bf2 is muting your mic?

I'm not having the "muting" problem.

Very weird. I guess I'm gonna go buy another Logitech USB headset, and hopefully they will work like the old ones did.

I searched and read through a lot of posts about this issue but could not find answer.

          thanks

There are a lot of 'fixes' out there in google.
Have you tried lowering sound settings ingame?
