    Gunshot Sounds

    Hey guys,
Seeing as I can't get FRAPS to properly record sound, I'm going to have to manually place the weapon shots in the video. I'm only looking for 3 main sounds, and cannot for the life of me find them in the .iwd's. The three I'm looking for are:
    -M40 Gunshot
    -R700 Gunshot
    -Headshot sound effect

If you can either send me the sound effect, or show me where they are located, it would be much appreciated

    Thanks :salute:

I havent tried this, but I heard that if you record in CoD then play it back and run fraps in the playback, it will work.

    Might try it.

      Re: Gunshot Sounds

Thanks for the help, but I've found that it's not related to CoD4 at all. My onboard sound conflicts with FRAPS (and all recorders for that matter), and I've tried every possible solution. Does it for every game sadly

      Any ideas on the location?

I think you're going to have to DL the SDK and stuff, but have you tried using something like Audacity to record sound while Fraps records the video?

Another option is to record a demo file, upload it to someone, and have them record it for you using FRAPS (or whatever app). They can then send it back to you or post it for you to edit.

            Re: Gunshot Sounds

I have a simple batch file that extracts all the .iwi, .cfg and .wav files from CoD4 (or any other game that packs those files in a 'zip' archive style format)

I'll get the 3 files and post them up...

Hmm, can't find any sound files for the weapons... only has grenade... so I checked in raw/ (from mod tools) but doesn't have rem700 or m40 or any headshot sounds... but it has other weapons like the ak47 and m4...

Yeah, I could only find the grenade one

And I tried other sound recorders as you mentioned, but they all want to record using my onboard sound which is pretty messed up. Maybe I can get somebody else to record them, but where could they be in the .iwd's?!

And Whiskey, I considered that, but FRAPS files are huge and that would just be way too time consuming to be sending 200mb+ (per clip) over the internet.
