yea hence AFK commanding is so hated. i used to sign up to command before i take showers or eat meals. easy way to rack up gold medals. what i've always wondered is, if you die while as a commander and choose not to respawn, then are you still racking up points and since you're not spawned, would that give you an insane SPM?

I don't know for certain, but would be surprised. The awards guide on this site states this for Explosive Gallantry : "- (rumor) If you kill someone with an APM while you are dead, the kill doesn't count as an explosive kill towards the badge. Personally I believe this to be true due to my own observations, and so do a few others, but it hasn't been properly proven."

I realize you didn't ask about that badge, but I would think it works the same way. If you are dead, you get no points.

not true. i got promoted when i was dead( on my new account about 12 times XD). i dont know for awards±i have 10 and 5 kill streaks gotten when i was dead or even respawned. looks weird though respawn get a kill and a 10 killstreak without even seeing an enemie. but i never ever got any other awards when i was dead.

Yep, I have seen that happen myself during the 15 second countdown waiting to see if anyone revives me. But the original question was about dying and staying dead (ie. never respawning). I think any kills you get during the 15 seconds count towards your stats, because I have gotten a few Titan Defender pins that way.

yes dead, not incapacitated. once you're dead kill streak related awards can't be achieved.

i got one after respawning. i killed a guy with apm and got a 10 killstreak after i respawned, i know that for sure.
