Windowed mode: menu loading involuntarily

Not sure how to search for other solutions, or explain this, but I often play in Windowed mode so I can do other stuff while I wait to respawn, or need to multitask.

When I click away from BF2 and go to, say a web browser, and then click back on BF2 to continue playing, the menu screen starts loading automatically (as if I pressed esc) and then I have to wait for it to load, then press escape after a bit to get back to the game.

I didn't know if there was a way to get it to quit doing this, other than playing fullscreen or not clicking away from the game. Sometimes it gets annoying when switching back and forth ofter.

you must be really busy.

you could try dropping the console, then alt-tab out.
I have my menu key (esc) remapped to F12 and have no problems tabbing out.

thanks for the reply! Yeah, it's pretty much ridiculous, but I end up playing a few rounds while waiting for this or that. Primarily I've been trying to figure out how to get better at flying and end up tabbing out to tweak joystick configs and stuff.

I have no problem tabbing out from the game. I have 3 monitors set up and run in windowed mode in the middle monitor. The problem is just when I either tab back to BF2, mouse click the menu bar, or mouse click the game, it makes the menu screen start to load, as if I pressed escape.

Kind of sucks when it happens mid takeoff...
