    Who misses older games?

So I was sitting here going through my PC game collection, and I started to think about the amount of great games that people just don't play anymore due to everyone being interested only in newer games such as CoD4 or TF2. Then an idea game to mind, I thought how about reaching out to all those who love older games, and possibly getting together a little group to dust those old games off your shelves.

We did something similar to this in another gaming community in which I'm a member of, except we had a group who explored HL2 mod's and would play a different one every week.
The way I see it is, we pick a game and form a group, then we go out and populate a server and just have a good time, bring back a little nostalgia.

I don't really expect this to pick up, but if anyone wants to, I think it could be a lot of fun.

Some games that I have that I'm dying to install again are..

    Team Fortress Classic
    Day of Defeat 1.3
Trackmania Forever(not really old, but a lesser known game)
Call of Duty 1 / United Offensive
    BF:Vietnam
    BF:1942 + Expansions
    MOH:AA / Spearhead

This is just a very rough outline of how it'll work, but I'm willing to plan it out if anyone is down for this.

Are there still a fair amount of servers up for BF:V? I haven't played it in probably two years, so I have no idea.

http://www.game-monitor.com/search.php?game=bfvietnam shows about 175 BF:V servers up right now, with 140 total players.

Hmmm will have to check tomorrow afternoon, as the only two servers right now that are really populated are in Japan and Australia. I hope there's at least a couple American servers which are popular, I'm itching to re-install.

CoD:UO and Spearhead will always be in my heart.

I still think UO was way better then CoD4 and Spearhead beats every game i've played lately ( except TF2 :p )

Quake III Arena. Online is a bit laggy for me, but the offline skirmish mode is awesome

                      Re: Who misses older games?

The clan I'm in, Devils-Brigade started with BFV. We have a custom BFV server where only choppers are used and you must shoot down the enemy.

The =d][b= Server as well as the Hung-lo, and -CB- servers are the place to go for some great huey fighting.

And 1942 is as strong as ever. I re-installed the game about 6 months ago and that's all I've been playing.

But to add to the thread I would say:
                      1) AOEII
                      2) Half-life
                      3) Star Wars Battlefront
                      4) Star Trek: Armada

best games to be re-installed imo! 1942 still rox! as well as SW:BF and SW:BF2, hopefully they are making a third

I completely forgot about Battlefront! I have the Star Wars: Best of PC collection, does anyone still play empire at war?

Shame about the player numbers for the mod.
