Read sticky, problems running in Widescreen-when I had none before

I could really use some help. I've read the entire widescreen thread...tried everything, and nothing works.

When I first got this monitor just adding the shortcut in cmd line worked fine.

Today I had to reinstall, and got the CTD after trying to load it in 1440 x 990.

I am running Vista 32.
I have UAC disabled.
I have the shortcuts set to run as admin.

Tried editing both .con files to 1440x990 in notepad and nothing...

PLEASE help. It looked so nice before and now it looks awful in comparison.:shakehead:

even edited the .con setting in the actual BF2 folder and nothing.

Today I had to reinstall, and got the CTD after trying to load it in 1440 x 990

So did it work before you tried to load it widescreen?
Delete the Battlefield 2 folder in Documents to reset the game settings to default.
If it works, go to Manage Accounts > Retrieve account and use your bf2 name/email and password to get your account back.
If it doesn't work and never did, re-install.

Yeah I had a similar problem, i just deleted my BF2 folder and then it worked fine after that. Note: I still had the line changed on the shortcut.

I just changed the command line in my desktop shortcut and all works fine. Have you tried that?
