Mercs 2 worth the purchase?

Hi everyone!

I have seen Mercs 2 in GAME, and Gamestation, i dunno though whether i should buy it, or leave it on the shelf lawl. So a little guidance may help please. Thanks.

I heat it's more console orientated and since it's new, it's probably not worth the £39.99 that Gamestation/Game are selling it for.

Try and find it online for cheap or wait a little for a price drop if i were you.

Umm yeah i will wait and look for a price drop, i just went by GAME today and saw it for 34.99. I was trying to look for a demo but no luck there neways, i will wait and see if a friend has it or something.

Its a more console game its the first time they put it on the PC.

You will have to wait for TGN's full review of Mercenaries 2: World in Flames soon (well as fast as I can finish the game then write about it)

Im writing the full review of the PS3 version and Kradath will be contributing some impressions from the PC version, so it will have a bit of both.

yes get it its good game, little like vice city type maps and game play, weapons vehicles ect. factions and lost of side and bonus collections.
hijack any vehicle/helicopter / grapple /nearly all the world is destroyable and there are lots of enemys and distractions whilst on or of mission.

Game (have this in for around 29 pound atm but i paid the full hit played it for a week on and off and still 50% of the game to do .

I havent tried the multyplayer yet but all in all if i was to rate the game IMO would put it in the same class as GTA vice city (probs not as large) but better quality and good playability.


problems so far :::::::

game crashes occasionaly with no errors and no warning!
also if you fall or slip of something high. your body seems to slide forever before being able to get up and has got me killed on more than 1 occassion .

Okay thanks to the last couple of replies, seems very positive! I got the game today from GAME for 26 quid with mah student discount!

I do plan to write a review on it, as i am in University right now, my rig is overseas back in Bahrain. So i will be testing it on my custom laptop, i will write up a review tomorrow, and submit it. Thanks everyone for the help its greatly appreciated, thnx again.

I dont really go by Yatzees reviews, but a lot of them are spot on. Most are just funny.

Seems rather mindless and easy after playing for only a few minutes. Not my kind of game, but I'd play it a little if it was free.

EDIT: I just watched the Escapist video -- it is one of the funnier ones and he's spot on with his review. 4.5/5 stars for that vid :thumbsup:
