    Re: will you?

Unsure. I fear that online it will be the same as COD4, e.g. endless grenade spam, and the equivalent of the helicopter and air strikes.

Maybe. If the maps are big, then no. In my opinion, Call of Duty is designed to be played on smaller maps. When CoD4 first came out I was dissapointed with the small map sizes (just came from BF2) but after putting time into the infantry combat I figured out why the maps were smaller.
Anyways, by the sound of some of the new perks (dogs of war for 5 kills) I think public TDM's will be worse than CoD4 (keeping martyrdom, adding dogs, you get my point.) I'm hoping that a nice competition mod is released early on so that my team and I can get right into CAL

Because they like how it looks? :o

I bought cod3 when people said no, because I saved for it, it's what I wanted.

guess what ... I LOVED IT.

now I've done the same with CoD5. I just have my heart set on it. Not because of the name. and I'm not rich enough either ;o

Cause I did that with pretty much all my games and only armed assault was crap

Im really unsure, looks like a cheap attempt to squeeze money out of the community from this thread:

I already own the existing PC CoD series. Might as well add this one to the collection.

CODWW uses the same engine and framework as COD4, so they will appear and play similar in many ways, if that's what you based your expansion pack comment on. If it was the visuals, those screenies aren't of the greatest quality...compare them to some of the earlier "official" ones released.

As for differences, some major ones are:
                            a) different enemy AI and animations for Japanese as opposed to German in SP
                            b) Co-op mode added
                            c) vehicles added in MP, as well as different sized maps, and CTF mode

If Treyarch only re-skinned COD4 and changed it to WWII, then I could maybe see people calling it a cash-grab, but I think there are significant major changes (and many minor ones (ie. new sound system, flamethrower, etc)) to CODWW to make it stand solidly on its own. Keep in mind that most COD fans got started with the series in the WWII setting, so there is lots of demand for a return to that time frame.

yea same as you, to me the demo is all important!! but saying that the demo for cod4 was a bit misleading.
as in game play & the pace of the game in mp, if the game play & map size of the sp gaming experience was as good in the mp i would have faith that "world at war" would be a top draw game!!.....just wait & see.

From what we've been told by Treyarch, the demo/beta coming in Oct will be multi-player, so it should give us all a solid idea of what to expect.
