Silent Hunter 4

Does anyone else have this, i recently got this and although its fun i just cant seem to play the campaign as i either get sunk by enemy ships, or on my way back to port i sink for some reason.


i also find the way each you get to your objective on the campaign a pain because it takes so long.

I only played part 3 in coop, that gives you the most amount of fun. Is there only a US campaign or a japanese campaign as well?

as far as i know, you can only do U.S missions, haven't tried playing online yet so i dont know whether a lot of people play it

I managed not to get killed on 2 missions, on the first one i shot down 7 planes and sunk 1000tonnes of shipping, on the second mission i sunk over 20,000 tonnes of shipping and shot down 3 planes.


there is an expansion pack that enables you to play as the Germans.

I used to be really into SH2, with 4 i just dont really have the attention span to care what happens and i just try to torpedo everything :\, however this is making me want to reinstall it.

I have SH4. When you're new to the game its good to change the settings so that you have unlimited amounts of fuel, oxygen, etc. Focus on learning the manual targeting system.

There is a lack of tutorials and manuals with the game so the best thing to do is to check for instructions videos on youtube and also download some heavier ones from sh4 websites. Also there are many guides on sh4 forums which are more or less necessary to read.

Don't use the auto aim function, it ruins the game. Also the travelling in the game does indeed take a lot of time. If you are playing with unlimited fuel and oxygen, don't even think about traveling across the pacific submerged. It will take 10 times longer.
