    Server Licenses

What's the deal folks? I have had a PR server licenses since the beginning and now I seem to be having a great deal of trouble even getting the PR guys to respond to my request for the v0.8 server files.

I used to get an email from the PR mod team with the download information after a new version or update had been released, however for some reason this did not happen when version 0.8 was released.

After doing some checking one of the retired PR devs (e-Gor)that I had dealt with during previous releases told me that they had changed the application process and that I had to reapply so that is what I did, however it appears from their lack of response to both my application and my follow up messages that the PR folks are either not checking their own forms or they have simply chosen to ignore my request despite the fact I have held a server licenses since the beginning.

I apologize for cluttering up the forum with this thread, however since the PR folks were not responding to my requests on their own forum I thought I would try to get the attention of someone from the PR mod team on these forums.

Anyway if someone from the PR mod team reads this do me a favor and try to find out what is going on with the new application I submitted as I would like to get this resolved so I can get our server updated to the new version before I lose our regulars on the PR server we host.

How long ago did you submit your application?
Normally they get back to you within a week.

It's only been a few days, however being that I held a server licenses since the mod was released you would think that reapplying for a new server licenses would just be a formality and that they could respond in much less than a week’s time. I can both respect & appreciate the PR folks wanting to regulate how their mod is hosted, however in the mean time this unnecessary delay is costing me server traffic because our regulars want to play the new version and I can’t get because of some policy change in how the PR licenses are issued.....

I hope this is not the case but on the surface it would appear that the PR folks are playing politics because their failure to even acknowledge my request leads me to believe they are trying to help clans & communities that are close to the PR mod team by cutting off the ability for some of us to continue to host servers so that our player base will go and populate the servers they did issue v0.8 server licenses to.

I have sent pm’s to several of the PR folks trying to follow up on the application, however the only person to reply was “e-Gor” and while he was able to fill me in on the details concerning the policy change, unfortunately, he has retired from the mod team so he no longer has anything to do with how the licenses are issued.

Again since I have been unsuccessful in getting the attention of anyone on their forums, if someone from the PR staff sees this thread, I would greatly appreciate any assistance you could offer in getting this issue resolved.

          Re: Server Licenses

Not sure why you posted the link to apply for a server licenses because as I mentioned in my original post I have already done that but thanks for the info.

Like I said previously, I have tried to follow up on this with several of the PR team members; however as of today that e-Gor person I mentioned is the only one that has replied back.

As for my comments about them playing politics, well the longer it takes someone from the PR team to acknowledge the numerous requests I have made for the server files the more I tend to believe my comments may have hit the nail on the head and that they are playing politics with who gets to host PR now that the new version has been released, otherwise why the licensing change and the silent treatment, I never had any problems getting the new versions up till now? :shakehead:

I am going to give it until Monday before I try to contact them again otherwise it will seem like I am simply harassing them. In the mean time I guess our server will continue to lose players to the servers that are running the new version

I don't play PR myself that much, however it's a damn shame we have to lose a great group of regulars because the PR guys appear to playing favorites when it comes to distributing the server files... :shakehead:

If the devs can't take 5 minutes to reply to the pm's I sent them why would posting the same request on the forums get me any better results?

Like I mentioned in my previous reply I am going to give it until Monday before I try contacting them again but I will try what you suggested...

No I don't honestly think that the case either, I am just getting frustrated with all of this because I have folks riding my *** for dropping the ball and this all could have been avoided if they had just taken the time to notify current licenses holders about the change in policy prior to releasing v0.8

I was out of town when the new version was released so I had no idea that there had been a change in policy or that we needed to apply for a new license. In the past I always got an email from the PR staff with the download information when a new version was released so when I found out the new version had been released I thought it strange that I had not received an email from them this time but now I know why....

so why did you post this topic here? You would be suprized in fact, I dont recall any PM and PMs like that I simply ignore most of the time as I have things to be dealing with that I need to, doing server admin licances is not something I deal much with. Mainly fuzzhead who dose them, but still, you will get better results from posting a topic than PMing us as we have multiple guys who do the server licancing.

                              Cheers.
