    Xbox 360 cheaper than Wii.

    You knew it was coming, but Microsoft has made it official: the Xbox 360 is officially going to drop to as low as $199 starting Friday, September 5 in the U.S. The three currently offered SKUs will get a price drop in North America, following multiple retail leaks and a similar pricing adjustment for the Japanese market. The new MSRP for the current line up is as follows.

    * Xbox 360 Arcade - $199
    * Xbox 360 - $299
    * Xbox 360 Elite - $399

    Yes, that makes the Xbox 360 officially the least expensive current generation console following an $80 price cut on the Arcade model. Here's to hoping that helps Microsoft's recent hardware sales woes.

    the thing is, who actually buys the arcade version? i don't think many people are stupid enough to spend £110 just for arcade games. or are they?:|:

        Yeah, but you will still need a memory unit to play most games. Most people would prefer just one purchase, so they grab the 20GB or 60GB 360. You could always buy the arcade and then the separate hard drive, I guess. You are paying a slightly smaller amount though, just getting different games in the holiday bundles and 5 free arcade games which is ok I guess. Also, the other bundles include HDMI cables, headsets, etc. so technically they are worth far more than the arcade. In conclusion, I don't remember what I wanted to say. Oh yeah, get a 360, but remember to purchase memory/hard drive too or else you can not save most 360 games, cannot play any original xbox games, and as such will probably have to start all over each and every time you play.

            Even with a 512 memory unit, most people will run out of space. I was considering purchasing one, but then I'm like no that would be stupid.

            Your mom likes hard drives all night long.

                  How do I locate my Console Serial Number and Console ID
                  Each Xbox 360 console has a unique, 12-digit serial number and a separate 12-digit Console ID . The Console Serial Number and Console ID are both located in the System Information area of the Xbox 360 Dashboard:
                  1. Turn on your Xbox 360 Console
                  2. Scroll right to the System area. This may also be System Settings depending on your version of the dash
                  3. Select Console Settings
                  4. Select System Info
                  5. Write down your Console Serial Number and Console ID

                  From the Xbox 360 Memory Upgrade website.
