Inadequate O/S privilege error...standard solutions don't work!

1) I have Vista.

2) I have downloaded and tried the spyware fix, and I do not have that spyware that prevents you from using PB.

3) I have tried running the program as administrator by right clicking the exe and choosing "run as admin."

4) I have checked the box under the icon's properties, advanced, run as administrator.

5) I have tried running it in XP SP2 compat mode.

6) I cannot check the box for run as admin in the compat tab because UAC is turned off.

7) The only accounts on this computer are Administrator and Guest. The guest account is turned completely off, so I am by default admin for everything.

WTF is the problem with Punkbuster?

you could try installing the pbsvc program from here

I installed that program from the link, and chose the install button, then it checked everything and said everything was good to go. Then, still the problem exists.

This works for me:

Run it in admin mode BUT turn off compatability...

Works fore me :P

You shouldnt have any problem running BF2 on Vista I'm running it on a 64bit Home premium version no problem. You might have just to reinstall or repatch the game
