My Guess is that the 01 and 02 dates are the same day but different time zones of when the server shut down or died or packed up and said "screw you I'm not dealing with farce book".
I've scoured the net today for clues and answers on the stats problem and there are none, some seem to have their stats updated (to what they think is updated at least). I have tried reinstalling and running on an older patch, playing on the older maps, just the newer maps and all sorts of other interesting stuff the last few days and nothing has changed.
From what I've read it seems like the main stat update server is either lagged to the shizehouse or completely dead, the main log in, soldier, game list, rank and global score servers (how ever many are run on the same server I don't know, but the main account server is on it's own) are still running.
Points seem to be applied to soldier accounts the same a usual, I.E. killing someone, capturing, destroying objects and objectives for pins (titan guns, titan survival, etc) but the pin awards don't display on the stats, now I'm not sure if the badges and ribbons points are still applied though.
But if your stats are updated enough that you can complete a badge or ribbon and you do in the round and get the points when the round ends with the stats update being the way it is it stands to reason that you may be able to get it again next round. which would be considered a glitch. if it is at all possible.

are the stats updating back to 9/1/08 or 9/2/08? or are you just getting stats from current rounds played?Originally posted by secondVISION

My stats updated somewhat. It shows I only played for one hour and 6 rounds yesterday. I actually played for over 4 hours, and probably about 12 rounds.
At least it's a step in the right direction.Comment

So right after DDoubleVVision posts, SecondVISION posts. There's got to be a joke in that somewhere but I'm simply not feeling clever enough to find it right now.
Edit: Well I'll be a monkey's uncle; I just did the update button thing on 2142-stats and it's given me all my stats and awards from 9/3 (the last time I played). This is the third time a 'stats outage' has occurred and this is the only time I ever received the actual stats and awards. Interesting, and a bit cool since I had a good game on 9/2 and managed to get my longest kill streak to a whopping 22 (yes, I know I'm l33t, so feel free to bow before my greatness :p ).

Appears to be finally updating....but as I feared.....it did not bring all stats up-to-date. Apparently anything other than stuff today was lost. Better late than never....but still painfully annoying!Comment

Yeah, stats are updating but crawling few days behind. All of my soldiers are currently updated to 4th Septemper. Give it some days and stats should be as up to date as they normaly are.Comment
