Re: Auto-Admin and soloing.
Nah if a person dies in an APC explosion it counts as an APC roadkill.Comment

Re: Auto-Admin and soloing.
Aside from team america karkand and jalalabad, the only servers I really play on are moongamers gulf of oman and SF highway tampa. Both servers have strict rules against vehicles attacking uncaps, and both have active admins.
So obviously there's not much baseraping that I can do. Why your feelings are hurt is beyond me, but still funny nonetheless.Comment

Re: Auto-Admin and soloing.
I still have no idea what a ram is you know. After 3 yrs of playing this game and many yrs of playing DC and 1942.....I still have no idea how one person can be the rammer and one person can be the rammed - in a normal dogfight.
Obviously, I know what a kamakazi is, and in a normal dogfight if you're barreling down toward your opponent, than I suppose a kamakazi kill could be considered a ram.
But ultimately, ramming seems to be some kind of frowned upon behavior which is controlled. And that rules out a middair collision because those are usually uncontrolled. In this arcade style video game that is.
I therefore have to conclude that ramming is a term used by people who have been victims of kamakazi pilots and thus call said kamakazi pilot a rammer to feel better, such that their e-pen|s feels bigger. And thus since it's a concept purely conjured up by players, for players, I have no clue how you'd set, a server to auto-kick for it.
The only thing I can see - is if it kicks you for when the kill indicator registers it as a player1 [killed] player 2. But how would you define something like a ram?
So yea, I'm confused. Which isn't news at all.Comment

Re: Auto-Admin and soloing.
A ram is usually a jet hitting a chopper, either transport or attack, and dying at the same time. If you're the one in the chopper, it's pretty easy to tell if you've been rammed by a jet.Comment

Re: Auto-Admin and soloing.
Ramming in BF2 is a waste. In 2142 however its funny, love to ram a gunship with a transport.
I mean hey if you cant out manouver a ship which handles like an elephant in comparison to one like a fly then you got problems. :)Comment

Re: Auto-Admin and soloing.
The only reason you would ram someone is because you suck with the jet or you lagged up.Comment

Re: Auto-Admin and soloing.
Hm... Its also possible that they bail out just before the jet blows up, thus giving you a roadkill.Aside from team america karkand and jalalabad, the only servers I really play on are moongamers gulf of oman and SF highway tampa. Re: Auto-Admin and soloing.
It goes extremely well with the current nanny-state sh*t we have to deal with in the real world. Easiest f*cking example? Firearms. Oh noes, don't let the evil, inanimate object hurt my feelings! I want you disarmed and completely at the mercy of criminals, too!Originally posted by SkaggyI think we're entering a phase of true "Nanny-state" gaming. What with both this and punkbusters rampage on ANY FORM of macros..

Not necessarily.
I gun helis down like it's no one's business and yet, accidents happen to me on an occasional basis: sometimes the corpse will fall on my jet as I'm flying under it. Other times, I'll barely miss finishing off the heli, only for the pilot to make a silly maneuver that makes me fly right into him when I would otherwise have flown away for another pass.
As someone else so eloquently put in the past, sh*t happens.Comment

Re: Auto-Admin and soloing.
It bugs me though when it won't let commanders in a TRANSPORT heli.
I agree it sucks when you get dinged for following a jet back to his airstrip and happen to kill him close to it. Not sure how you can program around that and still prevent raping jets before they can take off. Maybe make jets exempt after they've been occupied for a certain amount of time?Comment
