Re: Sync every frame
Turning it on prevents the ripping you see. If you are getting 60FPS you can leave it on. -
Re: Sync every frame
The only reason I see to turn it off is if your system can't maintain 60FPS all the time. Because if it can't, it starts dropping to factors of 60. Instead of dropping to 55, it'll drop to 30 or 15. If you turn it off, you might get a higher FPS but your screen can't display anything faster anyhow. What you end up getting is something called "tearing." It looks like the world is coming apart.
It's the same as if you have a guitar that is slightly out of tune. You'll hear the sonic version of tearing, and it is not pretty.Comment

Re: Sync every frame
I've played with the sync frames a bit. If you change your Refresh rate in your display setting to 75 (or what ever your settings will allow), you will get 75fps. It seems to be linked to the refresh rate, but refresh rates don't apply to LCD's.
When I sync frames, it fluctuates only 2-4 fps. But when I don't sync, I get from 130-330 fps. It depends whats going on in the game.
As far as quality of game play goes, I noticed a slight difference. Sync'd was smoother and less jumpy when air strikes or explosions were happening.Comment
