server browser pings all over the place

does this game have problem with showing server pings accurately? i got this game recently and the servers pings jump all over the place. one second it's 440 and the next second its 60. so when i refresh the server list, the quickest ping servers sometimes show up on the bottom. any way to remedy this?

Ignore the ping value of the server at the server selection screen. I've found that it never seems to represent the actual speed of the server correctly.

As for why it could be jumping around a lot.

Several reasons, none to do with BF2.

1). Connection, what type is it (sat, cable, adsl, dial up) and what speed.
2). Is it a good connection, contention ratio, throttling, etc
3). How are you connected; wireless, cable.
4). Is BF2 the only thing that is trying to use your internet connection. Torrents and other downloads will kill your ping.
