welll i have been wanting this game ever since it came out but i have never had a good enough computer..but now im getting a better video card and i will finally be able to play it.... people still play online right? just want too know

FAr more players and far more servers to choose from. however wih saying those two things you must consider that you will deal with far more BS in BF2 than BF2142. Hackers/Noobs/Tkers/ you name it will always play the more popular games just to have their ***** and giggles.

Not if you play on good servers. If what you said was true about every single server, then I guess there'd be no point playing good games. You'd just have to stick to games that didn't do so well, or really old games just so you can avoid hackers/noobs/tkers.

That wouldn't be very fun.

well if he hasn't played BF2142, it's no biggie. however coming from BF2142 it's a bit frustrating since BF2142 addressed some of the annoying issues of BF2. if you haven't played either, then starting at BF2 is fine i suppose.

Personally, I think 2142 is a little more 'user friendly'. (Or, nub friendly) It's easier to learn, and easier to play. But it lacks alot of the detail and intricacies BF2 has.
Right now I'm on a BF2 kick. Give it a couple months and I'll be at 2142 again. Wash, rinse, repeat. :)

2142 is definetly noob friendlier than 2. i have horrible aim and yet i still manage to get kills in 2142. in 2, i am dead by the time i notice someone far away proning. i don't even manage to get shots fired usually. plus 2142 has the god's gift to noob tube lovers, the PK rockets. you don't even need to be accurate, just fire it in the general area and you can easily rack up multiple kills.
