Hello people, i figured i outta just come here and see if anyone knows how to solve the problem i'm having. When i load battlefield 2142 everything seems fine, BUT when i load my soldier Nightmare_90 it takes about 4-5 minutes to load in. I can't imagine that everyone takes that long to load their soldier and ive just dealt with, however it gets to be a little annoying when your scrimming and people are sitting there waiting for you to load in...not to mention the fact that sometimes it never loads up and i dont know if its just taking longer or if it froze but the fact that it may freeze there isn't my problem, my problem is the very long load time. You may be wondering what my computer specs are but they arent the problem here considering i have other soldiers that load in, in a matter of seconds. So i am not sure if there is some stuff that i am supposed to delete or unclutter. Any help on the situation would be nice, thanks.

It's been happening as long as i can remember...it may even be getting worse im not sure...i'll say though this isnt an urgent cry for help, more of a convenience kind of thing if anyone knows how to helpComment

Delete the cache and radial file (no it wasn't fixed in 1.5).
The game will optimize shaders which will take ages first time you load a map.
Also open general.con with notepad (My Documents\Battlefield 2142\Profiles\0001 0002 0003 etc and delete any lines that start with GeneralSettings.addFavouriteServer and GeneralSettings.addServerHistory make sure there are no gaps between the lines and save changes.
Defrag might also help.Comment

You can leave the lines which are your favorite servers, the point is to get rid of all the dead servers that don't respond and delay you getting in.Comment

Thanks a lot natt it worked like a charm...i had atleast 25 dead servers that i never took out of my favorites not to mention the 30 live i had there....now my soldier loads up in seconds, thanks a lot manComment
