Crash error says iw3mp.exe problem (Vista?)

Hello,

So the title says it all. I just bought a new computer and now with COD4 it crashes around 1-2 minutes in-game. It CTDs then tell me it's an "iw3mp.exe" problem. I'm wondering if it's the new patch or if it's my new PC, which runs Vista Home Premium.

Doesn't have to be Vista's fault. That error is just Vistas way of saying something went horribly horribly wrong.

Post your specs (because I doubt you bought a "new" computer with the specs in your profile)

Oh yeah I need to update my specs, it's still my old one. Yeah ok re-installing might work. I just suggested Vista cause some people say they have problems cause of it.

Make sure you've updated all the drivers... including graphics... sound... etc. - don't use the Vista/Check for Updates, try going to the manufacturer and downloading the updates... example: if I try looking for new updates for my graphics driver, it will say I have the latest (as it uses the microsoft.com site) but if I go to nVidia, I can find lots of updates... (Microsoft last update was like in August 07, last update on nVidia was like a month ago)

Right so I'll check for those updates. But would that really be the problem for that file ??
