This conversation always comes up with games released for both consoles and PC. PC always wins.

The exception is the few good FPS games on the Wii. Metroid Prime 3, for example, was an amazingly good shooter. Wii uses a completely different control scheme but is hurt by the fact there is no focus right now on games for hardcore FPS gamers.

Of course, no matter how intuitive or good the Wii control system is for FPS games, nothing beats having a whole keyboard (or at least 1/2 of one) available at the same time you have 3+ buttons on your mouse.

I dunno, if you start with console gaming from the start, you might like it more. I began with PC gaming and I just think a controller is way too restrictive, and together with auto-aim it eliminates a skill factor that I think all games should have... granted, there are pros in console FPS's but it reaches a skill ceiling very fast.

In PC FPS's, there are so many things to improve, I can personally feel how my aim is getting better and stuff I do regurarly now would have been hard for me 6 months ago.

I started with console then bought a PC and now my console just sits there.... All by itself... Collecting dust sad really..

I bought COD4 for 360 after playing it on the PC. I played it on XBL 2 times before i was bored/fed up and I traded it in for GTA IV. I still play competitively on the PC, leading competition teams for my clan

I think persinally that the console is much better because you cant cheat on it as much as you can on computer then this is not as cheap to play online against people who have mods and people who take the game seriously

Modifications to the game thats like changing the game, how is that bad?

Ive seen videos of people crying in xbl over cod4 so dont start the "pc gamers are to serious"

Ive not seen a cheater in over a month, pb is pretty updated and banning like 10 people a day

but of coarse my opinion is towards pc :P

Haha, hes talking in Xbox speak.

Usually when someone has the PC equivalent of an "aimbot" on the console, its because they're xbox is modded.

I've never seen this on a 360... but on the original xbox, I've played on one. I remember someone flying around maps in Halo 2 and firing an automatic BR, much fun. :p

I could go on forever on how PC gaming is much better than consoles... but he'll figure it out eventually.

I find it rather easy to aim with a controller, but I've been using them for as long as I can remember.
But just like keyboard and mouse it takes practice.

I haven't encountered a hacker in over 5 months now. They're either banned from server instantaneously, or caught by punkbuster.

Mods don't affect performance in the unmodded cod4.

I'm not even gonna bother with "people who take the game seriously" since that's in almost all games.

He was... when most of you guys say "mod" they think of things like FH2 and Project Reality, hes talking about a modded xbox.

Punkbuster is good for eliminating the most basic noob cheaters, but it doesn't do that much against the ones using more sophisticated hax. If you play on "known" servers, esp those streaming to pbbans, then you may not see cheaters much, but those of us who roam around on random pub servers do see them from time to time.

I'm 99% sure I just encountered one while playing a small 3 v 3 game on Shipment. He was making jumping headshots on a consistent basis, and knew where opponents were even when UAV wasn't up (he'd put grenades right on you from across the map). I'm no star player, but I'm not terrible either...unless I managed to come up behind him, I could not kill him. Every face-to-face encounter he'd nail me, usually with a headshot, often before I could even pull the trigger.

These clowns are indeed still out there.
