    New Minigun fails to impress

Well heres the new unlock for heavy and i think we got kinda jipped. I cant think of any good uses for this unlock tbh. I personally would have vastly prefered this.

My only question is..does it shoot a little straighter? Or less straight? Or is there equal spread?

it could have been a cool idea

but they aren't really going for anything too drastic outside the classes role because unlocks are meant to be alternatives not blatant upgrades (thus why no +50 on the BB)

the new minigun while yes being a bit meh because its still a minigun (but hey the BB is a flamethrower)

is simply designed to counterattack some problems with the Heavy to make him more versatile

hes slow and cant chase when spun up, so people slow down when hit giving him more chance to kill them etc etc

It could be a pain in the a55 if you're playing as scout... Other than that I wouldn't use it over Sasha

True, it's not very impressive, but we haven't even gotten to use it yet.

What we have to remember is that these are sidegrades not upgrades.

I realise this. With the bofors, it would be a new type of gameplay. Notice only a few shells, so now heavy has to reload, plus its a straight long range shot, not alot of small spread shots. I could easily be a sidegrade with some tweaking and would introduce a new way to play as heavy

The Bofors would overcomplicate the Heavy's simplistic gameplay, in my personal opinion.

Sounds like it's time for class updates and reworks: Part TWO! That'd be awsome to add if they go back and put more stuff in after they're done with the initial first round of classes and such.

One of the main points of "A heavy problem" was that the unlocks could not encroach upon another classes job. The bofors would have done that to both the sniper (long range attack) and soldier (long range sentry destroying, though admittedly that's part of the snipers job as well).

And before you ask, the flare gun does not do this because firstly it does next to no dmg to sentries, and secondly there's no way in hell the flare actually poses a threat to a sniper, unless they're almost dead, in which case the pistol is can still do the job just as well. It's a harassing weapon, meant to annoy them while also spoiling their aim. (At least, I find it hard to snipe while on fire, does the constant dmg throw off aim like actually being hit with something does?) Not to mention it's funny as hell, almost as much as flaring a retreating scout to kill him is.
