Cannot Verify Ownership

So here is my dilemna, I get a new PC (specs in sig) and want to install BF2142 and BF2142:NS on it. So I install the EADM and download BF2142 and install it. However when I try to launch the game I get an error that questions my ownership of the game, saying that it cannot verify it and refuses to start up the game.

The stupidity of the error is so that even if I am logged in to my EA account in the EADM with which I purchased the game, I still receive the error. I'm at a loss here, what should do I do? Besides being told to always buy a hard copy of a game when getting one published by EA because Valve's STEAM never exhibits this issue even when I have the same account installed on TWO computers.

I never had a problem when i got my new computer. Maybe you should email ea.

try reinstalling eadm. Is bf uninstalled on your old computer.'

Yup, I re-installed EADM multiple times and I have now downloaded the game in full instead of using my backup disk. Same problem. The game is not installed on my other machine.

Ran through those, still having the same problem.

try this...

right click your 2142 icon on your desktop...

goto properties...

click on compatbility

check the comp. mode

change to windows 2000

start your game.....if it starts up, it's fix...


back out of your game and undo the check comp mode

have fun owning.....

I'm getting an invalid CD-KEY error.

EDIT: Well I fixed that but now I keep getting kicked by Punkbuster and it does not give me an error message. I've already updated Punkbuster manually using PBSetup, anyone know what it could be?

Download pb services and run the uninstall first, then install and run pbsetup after.

I just tried that and I still have the same problem

I can join a server but once it's done loading I get kicked within five seconds with the blank punkbuster error.

ok, did you undo the fix after you got your game to launch?
This would give you the cd error! :thumbsup:

Yup, I've undone the fix, now I just keep getting kicked with a blank punkbuster message.

ok, i might need to call yea a NOOB, if you forgot to check punkbuster in the settings????????????

Since you just reinstalled this might be it!
