Well i know we are all disappointed that BC is for PC only but there is nothing we can really do about it. Well i been dying to play a new game comparable to BF2 and haven't had much luck. Yeah i played COD4 but that has gotten old over time. Well i was over my brothers house and playing on his PS3 (i don't own one). I saw BF:BC as a downloaded DEMO and jumped right on it. The download took forever, i ended up running out to the store as it downloaded which kinda sucked but thats a small annoyance. I get back home and go right to it, took me a few mins to find out how to load a download from the ps3 but eventually i did find it i got a "Installing message." OK, that took like 10 mins , ok now getting little annoyed but i am hanging on the excitement to play so i tried my best to sit still and wait.
Downloaded and installed.
Ok i start the game and watch the intros (we all do on new games) which looked pretty good. Finally started the game on easy mode and i was off onto the battlefield. I took a few mins to get use to the controls and i was off. I do a few simple objectives as the game tries to make you more familiar with the controls and i was finally really off to battle.
I drove my squad right into the heat of battle as i jumped out the car and ran for cover. As i ran around a building for cover an enemy solider starts firing on me. I was kinda surprised he was so close but i go to aim. Since i was shocked i pushed the joystick up quickly to lift the gun/aim , well since the joystick is so touchy i found myself staring at the sky. I could see the screen lighting up red as i was being fired on and in a panic i pushed the joystick down and now i was looking at my feet. WTF ! I am dead. Ok ok, i need to just go a little slower next time. I get back into battle and spot a guy about 10-20 feet away who is firing at my buddy. I aim to shoot and it takes me at least 10-15 secs just to get my cross hairs on him and as soon as i lock he runs, damn. Over and over again this happens. Good luck trying to use them joysticks for long range shooting.
Now mind you i am a true PC gaming guy when it comes to FPS as i feel the keyboard and mouse just can't be beat but as the same time I am giving PS3 a real chance here. I use to play all the SOCOM’s so I at one time was kinda able to handle the joysticks but for some reasons just couldn’t get it down.
I know there are hardcore PS guys out there saying the same about PC guys but i just can't seem to use them joysticks to accurately hit ANYTHING.
The graphics also seen so-so . If your telling me that my 500.00 video card is going to be running graphics like that i would be a little upset. If anything this being a new/updated series of BF2 I would expect to see better graphics not worse. I know for a fact my video card wouldn't as im sure it could pump out them graphics in its sleep. Least cooling shouldn't be an issue.
Ok enough is enough (my fingers hurt). Before this experience I thought about getting a PS3 just for two games, BF:BC and GTA but after this no way in hell. The console left me feeling very frustrated and almost mad. I found myself almost happy that the demo was only one level and i was forced to end the playing right then and there.
Also on a side note:
When playing the game the PS3 must kick on its fans to full blast when it gets hot and it has to be twice as loud as my PC.
So i give PS3 and BF:BC two big thumbs down.
Thanks for listening.
Downloaded and installed.
