    Well new 4850's are going for around $160, about $30 more than 9600GT and about twice as powerful.

      I agree with Sir. Tasty - if three gfx cards have died on you, there's something seriously wrong somewhere... It's just plain silly to buy a new card if you're gonna stick it back in that "death trap"!

      I've been running two nVidia 7800 GT's for about three years now, in a very hot case (especially in the summer!), my computer is on pretty much 24 hours a day - and they never failed me. One of the fans started making noise at one point though, but I simply replaced the fan.

      Check your hardware piece-by-piece, use a thermometer to measure critical temps, and use a voltmeter to test your PSU. Find your problem before buying a new card!
