A friend just told me the superships and subs were just recently released, so I figured I'd go and give it a try again.

Any other Navyfield players here? I'm known as "timwebbers" on Navyfield Arizona. It's free to play, although you can pay to get better stuff (seems like the market's going that way).

ive played before, i set up an account on the American and English clients, although i only got as far as a nation specific destroyer.

it is quite allot of fun if you give it time, nothing better than racing towards a battleship in a destroyer, knowing ur ship will get destroyed:p only to find out with help from a ally cruiser you get the killing blow on a battleship and get loads of points:yay:

I found it to be pretty fun. If you played during the Navyfield anniversary event, they gave everyone 1 month of premium and like 2 weeks of double XP or something crazy like that. You had noobs in BBs so fast it would make your head spin. They also gave away random prizes ranging from 1000 credits or points to premium items like BO resets.

Hell, I've been playing since the beta, but I've still only got a BB2 (Colorado) and a CV2(Independence) as well as a Pensacola and Texas that someone else bought me for credits. I did wind up buying a Sevastopol to avoid the BB .5 grind through the Guam (That's painful stuff right there). I did see someone running around with the new SD battleship, Nebraska. It proceeded to open up the 40 lb box of rape on the other team. Fun to watch and escort; I got to take potshots at dessies and whatnot that got a bit too close.


And subs are evil but extraordinarily easy and fun to kill when they surface.

I play as westy543 on Missouri. It's really fun! The main idea is artillery-style battles between ships although alternate "classes" can be made such as flak ships, torpedo boats, or carriers.

I'd recommend reading the "Boot Camp" under "Game Info" on the left sidebar on the homepage. I have a US CV1 (That means Aircraft Carrier) Bogue and UK CA (Heavy Cruiser) York.

Also check out http://trainworld.us - oh, and sell your manual FCS (red circle on your ship's bridge) and buy an aiming FCS. You will need to manually move your guns using A and D to turn left to right, Q and E to widen/tighten the separation between guns, and W & S to move the turrets up and down.

Quick nation overview: You pick when you guys get to 12, they have to all be the same nation to be on the boats together.
US - Balance, good CVs & AAW
UK - Armorarmorarmor, some big guns.
KM (Germany, Kriegsmarine) - Epic range
IJN - Best torps, very good CVs.

That's what I can remember off the top of my head, you can verify it on the Navyfield website.

I suppose. You'll have to fight through the destroyer and light cruiser rank (and believe me, that's not a fun grind), but once you get to start effectively playing in GBs (I suggest doing AA escorting for capships until you get your BB or CV to earn cash for your larger ships), it gets insanely fun. I've been playing off and on for a while and I love my Colorado, minus its slowness.


Westy, you neglected to mention KM fighters. While KM CVs generally suck, their fighters are superb, slightly ahead of US fighters.

the grind through destroyer is horrible, ive only just got the first light cruiser, and it is horrible, i average about 1.5k credits and points per game, and the next ship is 133k, and thats without an engine and aiming system.

i mainly do AA, i even managed to take down 6 torpedo planes with one 'volley' from my guns, i was extremely lucky as they were about to drop torps that would hit me

I've got a decent bit of cash; if you play on Arizona, I'll be more than willing to give you what you need free of repayment (I can earn that in about 10 battles with my carrier).

Make sure you keep 50k creds and points so I can trade with you. :)

Number two: Don't try and continuously roll for veterans on your sailors. Stock up a lot on experts (trust me, you'll pay for it later if you don't).

I just found a rather nifty account feature in Navyfield. If you know you won't be able to play for an extended amount of time, you put your account in Sleeping mode and it saves any leftover subscription time for until you awaken your account again. I knew I had a lot of school stuff left to do, so I put the account to sleep, reawakened it 3 months later, and boom, I have 20 days of subscription left.

Only problem is, the account has to be in sleep mode for at least 20 days for you to reawaken it, so that's a bit of a downside.

Anyone leveled up recently? I just got my Yorktown; I love that ship.
