BF2 Prefix Length

Forgive me if this has been posted before, could not immediately find it...

I have recently been gaming with different Battlefield 2 clans who all have seem to take a liking to me, so I started thinking about the clan tags/prefix. I understand the max allowable length is 6 (at least by default), so my question is what are all of the "game's items" that control the prefix (length). Why would EA only allow 6 characters instead of maybe... 10. I need more space:cry::cry::cry:.

It's a local group made up of a handfull of guys. The full tag would be "KANTZSIDE", but there currently using "KANTZ".

They probably put a limit on it as the majority of clan tags are normally something like:
[1234], 1234|, 1234, etc. and putting in KANTZSIDE would no longer be a short clan prefix.

Thanks for the post, but I've already established that a 6 character limit has been placed on clan tags. I'm posting to see if there are new developments as to how to change this.

As far as I know, you can't change the maximum amount of characters.

You could try messing around in the file that determines the characters in your tag (located in My Documents/Battlefield 2/Profiles/Global.con) but I doubt you can increase it.

Just FYI, you edit that document so that input characters that you can't in the menu screen.

no, you can but then pb will kick you for modified content, now, if you can somehow edit the md5 files and make them all match then your set.

but then the admins will ban you for having a space in your name...

so, no you can't change the 6 character max.
