Some Questions

So i've got into playing HL2 a lot recently however some bits i don't understand. I may have missed an important conversation explaining them or something.

1. What are the big things that hammer into the sand on "Sandtraps"? Some of them you can turn on and off. (Big and blue things)

2. What's the difference between left mouse shotgun and right mouse shotgun fire other than the action?

I still havent completed Hl2 or anyoen of them for that matter...I got stuck...

I thought they were used to keep the antions away. But i turned it on and it was hammering but the antions kept coming.

Well when you turn one on, it takes a few hits before they retreat outside the radius of effect. If you stray to close though, they will attack. And yes, right click with the shotgun and you will fire 2 rounds, very useful against almost any enemy if your close, very satisfying :nod:

the thumpers deter the antlions, they will keep coming but they will stay at a certain distance

Well i completed it.

I've started Episode 1 and am getting frustrated with the fact that every single thing goes wrong, which means everything is a whole lot more elongated and boring.

The overall length of the game so far is fine with me. It's each individual bit that's boring. Because of those things that go wrong and make everything harder.

I completed Episode 1. Now onto Episode 2 just under half way through. More of the same, me breaking through floors and being sent ahead to find a way through a door, or a rock fall splitting everyone up...Elongating things by about 6 millions years. And i still play, because it is an epic game with a brilliant storyline.

I can handle all that crap because its well told with good level design and action

I just get pissed off because you always have to start out with no weapons and slowly gather them up again

Yeah, I kinda felt that way when I played Episode 1. I still haven't finished it though.

rofl double shot with the shotty is awesome in HL, just try it on a zombie, or those fast zombies that climb up pipes in ravenholm works like a charm
