Now, thanks to Deadman I could play MP again and you other guys with the MIC thing, so ummmmmm oh ya! 3 months or so later I was done making a movie for youtube and done playing a mod (Zombie mod) and then when I went to update my BF2142 patch and went back onto COD4 MP I press 'Join Game' and it crashes saying "iwmp.exe not responding, closing program." This worked for someone else...

Open up your config_mp.cfg inside CoD4/players/profiles/YOURNAME/ folder

Open it with WordPad (or a good text program, I use NotePad++)

Then search for "ui_browserFriendlyfire" and replace that block of commmands with this:

seta ui_browserFriendlyfire "-1"
seta ui_browserHardcore "-1"
seta ui_browserKillcam "-1"
seta ui_browserMod "-1"
seta ui_browserOldSchool "-1"
seta ui_browserShowDedicated "1"
seta ui_browserShowEmpty "1"
seta ui_browserShowFull "1"
seta ui_browserShowNoPassword "1"
seta ui_browserShowPassword "-1"
seta ui_browserShowPunkBuster "-1"
seta ui_browserShowPure "1"

So basically replace the lines from ui_browserFriendlyfire >> to >> ui_browserShowPure

Then save it and try again

I also had this problem and posted, here is the thread

and here is the answer. Maybe do a search before posting or sth


1. Make a new profile in the game
2. Copy the new CFG files (config_mp.cfg and config.cfg) to the profile that can't browse the server list
3. Open the config_mp.cfg file and press Ctrl + H (replace)
4. Put the name of the new profile in the first box, and your old profile in the second. Press Replace all. Save the file.
5. Repeat step 4 for config.cfg
6. Go in game, and it should work.

Before you do all that, paste the "glitched" config_mp here so I can see what commands are causing this.

...and you don't need to do anything to config.cfg that's SP only, has no affect on the MP game.
