Skill point system?

So after you reach rank 25, you get that skill point system. And the explanation said in game, the smaller the skill number is the better(1 is best, 50 the worst).

So at start i had that thing in 6. Then after few really bad rounds, it went down. It said something like "because of bad performance your skill has decreased(it showed red triangle)", and it changed to 9.

So now that i have been "in the zone" for the past two days(meaning loads of wins, kills, points, trophies and small amount of deaths). I tought that the number would go down again(meaning to better).

Finally today, i got the message saying something like "because of good performance, your skill has increased(and it showed green triangle)", and the skill point went from 9 to 19.

I tought "wtf, wasn't that suppose to go down?"

So my questions are,

Is that skill system seriously broken, or just retard?

And has this happened to anyone else?

I didn't realise there was a skill based system. I haven't reached rank 25 because of the dog tag lag so I haven't been playing recently. I don't think I'm that far off tho, I might just plough through to the top rank and I'll let ya know what mines like.

The skill point thing replaces the form thing what you can see in the lower ranks. And instead of those arrow thingys in the scoreboard you see numbers from 1 to 50. But the bad thing is that no one knows where that skill thing is based..

Speaking of that, there is suppose to be only one player on skill 1(kinda like Supreme padde... oops, i mean Commander in BF2142 ). But no one has seen it yet. So it smells like BS just a little bit right about now...

Didnt even know it existed myself, it sounds like a Prestige sort of mode.

What im thinking is, although you did have a few great rounds and your performance did increase, maybe it increased relative to everyone who also plays. So had you had bad rounds you might have been 40, but because you maintained a good few rounds, as did everyone else, it didnt drop AS much.

But anyways, the problem is this

When i first was promoted to rank 25, i was at skill level 6.

Then i had few really bad rounds, it decreased to level 9. And it said that "because of bad performance, skill level has been decreased".

But now that i have had few good days, it went to level 19, and it said that "because of your performance your skill level has been increased". So it was suppose to go towards no. 1 not towards 50. Because #1 is best and #50 is worst.

Get my point?

Ok heres what i meant, you were level 6 and compared to EVERYONE else you had bad rounds so you dropped to level 9.

Then even though you were having good rounds from then on, everyone else above your level 9 and below it was having better rounds, so although you did improve, over the course of everyones score, you actually decreased.

Make sense? lol

I didnt know this existed either.

I'm way off 25 so i don't think I have to worry straight away. It kinda sounds like the trueskill system from Halo 3.

What Elim just said makes sense, but i thought it would have tracked your performance against yourself, not everyone else. I don't know, would be nice to hear from DICE on this one lol.

Now it makes sense... But in a way it still makes no sense...

The skill point thing has 3 colors what show how you are doing.

Red is bad
Yellow is neutral
Green is good.

You can see how you are doing from the scoreboard. With few deaths in a row can get you to red, and loads of kills with no deaths gets you to either neutral or green...

And i have been either on yellow or green in the end of (almost)every round for the past two days.

So your 'compared to others' thing doesn't make sense...

Get what i mean?

There has been few threads on the BC official forums about this thing too. People have had the same problems as i. And still no official info from either DICE or EA about how it works...

So yeah, official info would be great...

I was expecting master server disconnects mostly, but i guess that they can mess up other things too...

Im thinking that they should add slogan to the Electronic Arts part. I already have one for them:

Electronic Arts? "F*cking up games since 1982"

If it would be based on SPM, then it would be possible to pad(or is it anymore?). But if it's based on K/D, there's no way you can pad.

Besides, it would be nice to know why the system says that skill point increased but still the number goes to worse.

And why some people have had their skill points decreased after they haven't played for few days.

And most importantly, do they seriously have to add these broken features to the game. And have people guessing how it works and what it is.

For example the form thingy, i had no idea wtf that was until like a week ago. But i still don't know how it works..

LOL...

Now this is starting to get really confusing. I just started the game and got message saying something like "because of you good performance your skill points has been increased"

And i went from 19 to 13...

Yeah I was really confused when I reached 25 too because I was skill 4 and it had a red arrow saying that I decreased but I thought that was meant to be good since the gamers at the top of the leaderboard are on skill 2. I played quite a few very good matches and when I got on the next day my skill 4 went to skill 21 with a green arrow saying that I had been doing very well lately.

I really don't know how it works...
