    Random jumpy/jerkyness

    Hi Guys,

I recently installed BF2 again on my Vista PC for a bit of a flashback and have got back into it (yay).

However I've now noticed that my internet connection has spikes in my ping of 500-900ms, even one at 1800ms, this is causing much jumpyness in the game and I'm dying needlessly (like all of a sudden facing the ground as I fire an anti-tank rocket).

I've turned off Vista's firewall but can't really think of what else might cause this. I know there are probably many possibilities, but any suggestions?

Oh, I have a lan connection to an adsl router. 9000kbit download and 1000kbit upload.

It's probably just punkbuster trying to install services and updates. A manual install/update might fix it.
    Install Punkbuster services
    Install and run pbsetup

Yea check its not pb, might want to contact someone from your ISP and have a word. Check you have no background programs hogging the tubes also

maybe set up some port forwarding in your router to your lan ip. Or turn on your pc's firewall and set your ip to DMZ. I had to do that because my router does not have enough port forwarding lines to fill in all the ports bf2 uses.
