"Cricket" noise in Multiplayer problem

Hey, when I play Battlefield 2142 in multiplayer there is always this very annoying sound like crickets or something that never goes away. It does not occour in singleplayer only multiplayer. Is there any way to fix it?

any particular maps or when a certain action is performed maybe????

oh yeah like the reloading glitch where your done reloading but the noise stays with you until you die i love that one

its hard to explain the noise. I'm going to mess around in the game to find the source of it and ill get back to you soon.

the cricket sound is the sound of UAV commander assets at work. you must be near the UAV asset in the base.

So it is just part of the game? It is incredibly annoying. Is there a way to delete it?

no man, it's the damn UAV of course you can't delete it! lol.... it also happens to be loud if you are close to the UAV drone as well.

When I play, the noise is ALWAYS going (or seems to be, I just started playing 2142), never quieter or louder, just always going. Occaisionally it will stop, but only to return a little later. When I play maps with like 6 people the noise is absent so I guess your right.

Very, very stupid choice to put that in the game; extremely unecessary. But thanks for the help.

do you play with EAX enabled? try turning that off.

Can you make a recording of the sound?

The UAV does make a kinda 'cricket' chirping noise but it's really not that intrusive so it may be something else.
