I throw EMPs at vehicles and infantry. Making a guy's screen fuzzy for a few seconds helps me to get closer and shoot him. Or even knife him, if I'm lucky.
I don't see why it would be banned, as it does help your team to kill confused infantry.

BF2142 is a funny world of it's own. Kind of Planet Battlefield, with states (servers) each having their own laws. Hell even the Feds (=EA) has their own laws, like the one that rules it's impossible to have the Knife as a preferred weapon, without being wiped...

Although you have a point, it's useless to complain, unless it relieves your mind. Personally I don't mind the EMPers, kinda boring to me though.

And Lolyn pls stop being so pedantic....

        Lolyn ,

you have much more patients than myself , but at least you tried ... About the time this forum gets bogged down with pointless threads and queer givaways to pimp a clan , we're blessed with a gem like this . To the o/p ... yes your wasting your time and ours , posting your tale of woe here . Your 46 man , none of the kids here can lift the ban . Follow the link provided and take it up with them . Perhaps you can persuade to clan in question to see the error in their ways , and re-write their rule set to suit your style of play ? Or , you can swing by my server and I'll ban you for breaking the douche rule .

EMPing troops is a valueable tactic. It's also annoying as hell for the victim and makes it harder for them to kill you. Banning EMPS is the same as banning the Voss or APMs - or anything else for that matter.

Kudos buttscratcher for actually reading my posts. Some people here are just far too sensitive to anything unless it makes them happy, and I'm not the sugar-coated variety of lolyn you might find on your supermarket shelves.

If Molina came to our server and EMP spammed, he'd also get banned. He's breaking rules that are stated before playing, and deliberately. Contesting those rules AFTER flaunting them is completely the wrong way of doing things.

Given that repeated emp-nading is recognised by EA as a form of statspadding (I have an email to dig up somewhere from an EA rep to demonstrate this), so actually coming from EA's POV it's now a MANDATORY rule to enforce.

To be honest, I don't think the O/P has any intention of appealling the ban, it's been a good 3 hours and he still hasn't signed up at timelessgaming. Here's just here to have a hearty whinge, that and tell me I'm an advocate of communism because I believe in actually FOLLOWING the rules set on the servers I play on :yay::yay::yay: Much lollery.

              Ranked Server Administrators:

If you are an administrator of a ranked Battlefield server (referred to below as a "Server Administrator"), you must also comply with the EA Online Terms and Conditions.

Server Administrators are in violation of the EA Online Terms and Conditions if they enforce server rules on ranked servers that prohibit or severely limit players from using any roles, kits, weapons, vehicles, or other features of the game while playing on their server. Examples of such rules that would violate the EA Online Terms and Conditions include:

*Preventing players from being Commander or Squad Leaders
*Preventing players from using certain vehicles such as jets, helicopters, or tanks
              *Running knife / pistol-only servers
*Preventing players from using all commander assets (artillery, vehicle drop, UAV or scans). If using the Infantry-only server-side option, this should be clearly stated in the game's loading screen
*Preventing players from using certain weapons or items (such as flash bangs or C4) or enforcing a "pistol only" or "knife only" server rule

Server Administrators may implement and enforce rules that result in minor changes to gameplay behavior or styles as long as these are clearly stated before a player starts playing on a server. These rules typically introduce minor or limited restrictions on how a certain aspect of the game can be used, but do not create or promote an environment that would allow abuse of the scoring/award system. Examples of such rules that are acceptable are:

*Limiting movement of combat assets, such as Titans, Ships, Aircraft and Vehicles during game play – Disallowing all aircraft for example is not acceptable.
*Disallowing repeated main base camping/attacking of bases that cannot be captured. However, in such cases, attacking the base with reasonable intent to take out assets (artillery, command outpost, or radar) are acceptable.
              * Limiting the use of artillery or any other single commander asset to a particular region of the map.

              3. No stats padding
              - included spam EMP grenades (According to the EA ROC this can be interpreted as Stat
              Padding)
              - You will not be penalised for the use of EMP grenades unless an admin has sufficient
reason to suspect you are using them to just gain extra points for yourself without
benefiting the team or just to gain medals.
This really isn't that hard. As has been stated many times, take it to their forums, however, if you don't have an attitude adjustment you won't get very far.

Repeatedly EMPing soldiers is just as much stat padding as EMPing the Commander Assets. All you are doing is racking up teamwork points. (Please spare me all the arguments about how it is helping your team by "disrupting them." RDX works great for that.) Throwing an EMP at an enemy before trying to take him out is different, but i have a feeling that this is a case of just lobbing EMP's into the masses to farm points.
