    First Requirements list posted for FarCry2

    Apparently, they claim these requirements are accurate, unlike crysis and other top tier games, but i will believe it once i play it.

    Source http://www.farcry2-hq.com/requirements.htm
    Code:
    Details

        * The GC 07 demo was running on a beefed up Core 2 Duo and an 8800.
        * This was a pre-alpha showing meaning that the game will be even more optimized by the time it is released.
        * Clint Hocking (Creative Director) stated that the game will run on a fast single core cpu and a strong DX9 graphics card
        * Far Cry 2 seems to be in line with the estimated requirements for Crysis

    Maximal Requirements

        * CPU: E6600 Core 2 Duo
        * Graphics: Nvidia 8800GTS
        * RAM: 2GB
        * Hard Drive Space: 6-8GB
        * Optical Drive: DVD Drive

    Minimum Requirements

        * CPU: Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz
        * Graphics: Nvidia 6600 or ATI X1600 - Shader Model 2.0
        * RAM: 1GB
        * Hard Drive Space: 6-8GB
        * Optical Drive: DVD Drive

    Recommended Requirements

        * CPU: Dual-Core CPU (Athlon X2 / Pentium D / Core 2 Duo)
        * Graphics: Nvidia 7800GT or ATI X1800XL Pro (SM 3.0)
        * RAM: 2GB+
        * Hard Drive Space: 6-8GB
        * Optical Drive: DVD Drive
    Hopefully the engine will be more optimized then past engines coughcryengine2cough

    How do you stack up to these? Does this change your thoughts on purchasing this game?

    I for one am pre-ordering once i can afford it.

          Im planning on getting this for the 360 so it doesnt bother me too much but i am surprised at these requirements. When Far Cry was released barely any computer could play it maxed graphics but with the new technology on the market these maximum requirements almost seem old.

            They keep saying over and over how "Optimized" the engine is. They keep paralleling it to Source in terms of scalability.

                It supports DX10 but does not use DX10 effects as far as i know of [volumetric particles ect.]

                  For maximum eyecandy you still prolly will need a beast of a PC, but below Crysis`s reqs. Doesn`t look as good as Crysis so obviously.

                    Should work great considering Crysis has no problems on my rig with all very high settings...

                    Looking forward to a demo or something :p

                        Looks better than crysis to me, we need a feild of change here anyways, i mean most games i have played took place in the mid-east, mid east, mid east, WW2 Europe, a little of the pacific, Europe, the US, some tropical areas, but i never played Africa, well except for FH in BF1942, this should be quite a great experience.

                        Neways i hope it beats Crysis, honestly i dont know whats wrong with me and Crysis it's just that i feel that i lost my money over it :S

                          LOL WUT????!
                          Crysis looks 10x more photorealistic. If you`d remove all the bloody bloom from FC2, it would look utter s*it imo.

                              I liked the SP, its just the MP aspect of the game, i mean i could have rented it played it, then returned it, i dunno. In all cases, the game to me was a 8 out of 10.
