yup- there are only 5 playable SP maps in BF2142, but if you install the single-player mod (dont have link right now- just search for it) you will be able to play all the maps on their various sizes.
    welcome to the forums!

Some maps are only playable online. But you can get mods such as the Extreme Realism mod and get extra maps with that, if you don't mind that the game play is revamped.

Whats the problem with your Internet connection? We may be able to sort it out.

To get the full experience from 2142 you need to play online against other people!

Indeed. I hope you know that this game is Multi-Player only, kinda. Because Single-Player gets boring really fast. It's not like Half Life with a story line, it's just stupidly shooting bots. Not funny.

agreed- if you cant play MP, get a SP mod, like extreme realism mod, which makes playing SP very enjoyable.

              ooooook...

the problem wid my internet connection is that it only gives my 64Kbps speed... that amounts to 8KBps...

i downloaded the single player mod and it works like a breeze... but it doesnt work with ffolkes unlocks mod...

i have to quit one to play the other...

and i was wundering if there is any way to play all maps single player with all unlocks? like a merging of the 2 mods?

              please?

By the way, it's possible to play the other maps - just not with bots. :)

To do this, select Multiplayer > Local, and click on the Create tab. This will allow you to begin a game on any map in any map and explore it at your leisure.

i always took to swat/realism/less armor type of game modes but then one thing though what the heck is all the fancy future armor for if you die in only 2 bullets to the chest? ehh i think thats ok though it works for pretty much all games very well

see with extreme realism mod if it was put into multiplayer i could actually snipe really well then because all you need are BODY SHOTS! woot

What are you talking about Field, maybe you're thinking of HER (Which is so incredibly gay) but what you speak of is NOT in ER.

                      seriously field-
in ERM, you have the same amount of health as you do in BF2142.
and im almost positive that damage amounts for the guns havent been changed either.

As the main coder/creator of ERM i have to say this:

Most rifles damage is left as it was but the range they do like from max damage till 15m till max damage till 35m

Also zeller-H is a unreviveable kill on the head, 95% damage on the flesh *legs and arms and 78 damage on the body armour

standard sniper rifles for example do 75 damage on flesh and 60 damage on body armour *head is still a instant kill*

to find out more just play it and find out xd

I don't know. If your arm or leg was blown off because of a large calibre weapon, I'd say you'd be seriously wounded and incapacitated.

All this talk of realism remindes me of swat4 deathmatch where you, instead of killing other players outright, you can incapacitate them and have them handcuffed. It would be quite funny to capture POWs for 2142

Would be a good bonus point incentive, since you use less lethal ways of securing the objective.

I found it nice to see that in SWAT 4, when the highest score was given by completing the mission without seriously wounding anybody. :) It gave a drive to attempt finesse plays.
