  • Performace decrease when using Vista?

I got Vista and it seems my game doesn't run as smooth as it did on XP. It seems somewhat laggy now. Did anyone else have this problem? I got the 8800GT Superclocked with the latest drivers.

Everyone has that problem. Vista is bloatware. It usually takes twice the ram to get the same performance.

But it's still a fairly large drop. Could it be something else?

nope vista requires double or .5 more as some games say 1gb for xp and for vista 1.5gb it all because of the memory management software used by vista takes alot of it

So if I go from 2GB 533 to 4GB 800 it will be back to normal right?

4Gb is what's mostly recommended for Vista.

              Google is your friend.

Gamers have been signing the woes of Vista. I refuse to downgrade to it. I'm perfectly happy with my XP Pro.

But anyway, you might want to check to make sure you aren't overheating and clean the dust out of your case. Also, defrag and manually update PB.

Everything is fine now. I just needed to go fullscreen.

When you don't got fullscreen the Vista interface uses much of your performance.
