I keep geting this. 'Modified content error, Please revert to the original 2142 version'. and i did not mod anything... so i dont know what to do... I cant play it at all.

Do you get this on every server or just NS servers?
Does it say 1.50 on the login screen?
You could try re-installing again.
The correct install order should be:
Manual uninstall2142
Install bf2142
Patch to 1.4
Install NS
Patch to 1.4
Patch to 1.5 with incremental
Install punkbuster services
Manually update punkbuster
Or a quick fix is to modify the version in the registry from 1.50 to 1.10 and then patch with 1.50.
You can find the version number in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2142
If you are running 64bit OS it will be under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2142
