    Can't get mic to work

Trying to get the mic thingy to work in game. The mic works perfectly in other programs but when I run the bf2voicesetup or when trying to configure it in-game, it doesn't pick up.

I've already tried setting acceleration to basic but it has made no difference at all.

      Go to options
      Click on Audio
Check mark the "X" on the top right hand corner
Turn up BOTH volumes to 100%
      Reminder**
game volume "voice over' needs to be turned on.

Alright, your good to go. Now, get back to the fight!

This is happening to me as well, and Darksteppa1's solution doesn't work for me. It started happening when I "upgraded" to Vista. I've tried it with 2 mics, but neither of them work with BF2 or the BF2 voice setup program, but they work for everything else.

Darksteppa1's post wasn't a solution, it was intructions on how to turn VOIP on, which most people are intelligent enough to figure out for themselves.
I've looked into why realtek doesn't work and haven't found a solution. Realtek+BF2/BF2142+Vista = Fail.
It may be the same for other sound devices. The first thing to try is updated drivers.

I agree with the Realtek think. I built a new rig and my mobo had a choice of using either AC97 or HD Audio. I couldn't get my microphone to work with the HD Audio so I switched it to AC97, whatever the hell that is. It works fine now. I am using Vista Ultimate 32 bit operating system.
