NS has more stuttering and framerate issues than the other conquest maps. does anyone else notice this? is it because of all of the terrain changes and funny shaped hills? why are these maps more memory intensive?

More complex: there's more things for your PC to compute, like terrain changes, size, etc.

I think that was done intentionally though, a little something more for those whose PC's can handle it.

yeah its annoying if 2 or so years ago before i wrecked a car and wasted a bunch of money and bought a Dell computer cause i didnt know what was going on (its my first computer after all) and i was able to look into the future and see the bothersome problems that this PC would give me and how much time i would spend on it, i would have spent my money differently. At the time i DID have enough money to get a pretty powerful PC i had at least 5 grand of disposable income

but i got my first real job that pays pretty decent and ill live in a 1 bedroom apartment and WILL pay for and have cable internet and ill get a new computer pretty soon so its all good

I didn't notice it, not even on my old 7300LE. Operation Shingle is a lot more intensive for me, though.

Field a modern £300 computer can max 2142. Unless your planning on playing Crysis there's no need to spend a £1000. Although BF3 shouldn't be far away

just be happy that you can play NS. ever since the 1.50 patch i get error messages when i join a server. it's been days & EA still hasn't even responded to my support ticket. but when i could play it, i noticed a degradation in frame rate...especially the really good map at dusk....uh...operation of lipzeig or something

something to the effect of "the server you are trying to join does not allow modified content. please revert your version of battlefield 2142 to the current version. i have the current version. the problem didn't start until the new 1.50 version came out. i have tried EVERYTHING from uninstalling/reinstalling, changing OS's, changing hard drives, punkbuster updates, uninstall/reinstalls, recommended registry edits (there's a post about this error in the support section) to yelling elxpletives & throwing empty water bottles. i am NOT a big fan of the 1.50 patch.

lol what you need to do is install teh most current patch again after ns... so say u reinstall u patch to 1.50 then u put on NS u need to then reapply 1.50 and it will work fine :)

i had the current patch. yes i know you need to repatch after NS cuz that brings it back to something like 1.25. after countless hours & efforts, (which i won't even go into), it turned out to be the most ridiculous of all remedies. there is something wrong w/ the FULL version of 1.50 plain and simple. i went through another installation today using the incremental 1.40 to 1.50 patch & it solve both the NS problem & the crash to desktop when clicking on awards in bfhq. and no, i'm not crazy & the only one that this happened to. there are other threads out there about the same thing. getting back on topic...i played one round on liberation of lipzeig & it ran about as good as the other maps. not perfect, but none do. maybe it's me, but it seems any map played at night time, regardless of game (unreal tournament, bf2, bf2142) seems to be more graphic intensive. i dunno why, it just seems that way. so when we gonna see the new & improved pc field boy? like you need another advantage....

im guessing 3 weeks. but ill look at what i could get with a certain amount of money maybe earlier. it depends. i want to make sure that i keep this new job. very important
