BF2 Just doesn't Want to Update.

Hey guys.

I've been trying to get back into BF2 but i have a problem.
For some reason i cant get my version past 1.1.2940-772.0

I have tried re-installing, restarting, different updates, different versions and still nothing helps. The Update installs run fine, and look as if they work.

:hmm: No idea why it does it.
I'm running off normal BF2 Cds with my case's original CD key.

Anyone know a solution?

CPU - AMD Quad 2.4
GRAPHICS CARD Nvidia 7900GTO
RAM 2gb gskill
HD - 80, 200, 500
Latest Drivers installed Yurp
OS Windows XP

Have you installed the 1.41 patch?

I tried to.

The installer ran fine, looked as if it had done its job.

But still my version does not change.

Make sure you have 3gb of free space on your c: drive before patching.
You could try booting into safe mode and patch from there.
If that doesn't work change the version in registry (I don't have XP, so the version may be in a different place, use Edit>Find):
Click the Start button on the Windows Taskbar.
Select Run.
Type regedit in the text field and click OK.
Click the plus (+) sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Click the plus (+) sign next to Software.
Click the plus (+) sign next to Electronic Arts.
Click on the Battlefield 2 folder.
In the right pane, right click on Version, modify and change to 1.2
Close registry and run the 1.41 patch.

If that doesn't work download the 1.41 patch from somewhere else.

No luck with editing the reg.
I would try safemode, but my keyboards drivers don’t kick in till I get past startup.. So i can't select it manually.
I've got over 20gb, on each drive free so that’s not the problem.
I also tried a few different sources for the patch, but that made no difference either.

When I edited the Reg, I changed it from 1.4 to 1.2, but then when the install was completed it returned to 1.4. Also tried changing it to 1.41, but that had no luck either.

Mine has 1.4 in the reg, even tho it's 1.41. It's the numbers at the login screen which matter. 1.41 is 1.1.2965-797.0
If you are going to re-install, follow the Manual uninstall instructions and then install and just use the 1.41 patch.

Thanks heaps man. Must have been the old reg files that wouldnt update. The game is running sweet.
