CD and User Account Issues - Been frag less for a year

I have not played BF2 in a year due to my job. Now I am back and I have the super internet from COX and I am ****ing ready to kill. I put the disc in and nothing happens. The disc is scratched a bit, but nothing major.

So what should I do? Other discs work fine in the same DVD player. I've cleaned it, and tried on both user accounts (windows).

I've also considered buying the release that has the orig game plus all expansions and using my old account. Will this work? This would be to get a fresh disc.
How can I get my old account info?
So anyone who reads this has bleeding eyes from the boredom but your help is invaluable! Please get me back on if only to headshoot me!

Have you had bf2 installed on this computer before? If so you may need to
    Manual uninstall
to get rid of any registy stuff left over.

If you have any cd/dvd copying/emulating software installed, this might be clashing with the copyright protection. Installing in Safe mode might work, but it may still cause problems when trying to play the game.

You can use your old account with a new game, but if you have forgotten your password you will need to know which email you used as your password will be sent there. You can get your password sent to you either through the game, EA support or gamespy.
