I made a custom map yesterday. And for some reason when I load up battlefield 2, go to multiplayer, and then try and create a local game, it doesnt appear on the map list. Anyone know what the problem might be?
EDIT: Actually do you think it is because my map name is My_Level?
No, the name doesn't mean anything...most likely, your map not in the correct folder, or you don't have all the parts. Included below is the path, level folder and contents. Your map should be in your levels folder including the client and server compressed files. If you have all the parts and in the right place, it should work.
GO To: My_Computer/local disk C:/Program Files (x86)/EA GAMES/Battlefield 2/mods/bf2/levels/My_Levels
inside My_Levels: info (folder), client (file), server (file)
I do have a My_Level folder with abunch of files in it in the directory you specified but I dont have the content you pointed out in it. Or atleast I don't see it. All I did after I was satisfied with my map is I saved all, closed the editor, and then started up Battlefield 2 and try'd to locate my map but wasnt there. Thats all the tutorial said to do when I was reading it. Sooo...
Thats how I made custom maps work for TWL. Look in a map folder you know that works, and check the contents. Copy over the compressed files you don't have, and that should work. It's worked that way for me, so I think thats what you need to make it work. Sooo...most people have some good ideas for custom maps, hope yours works for you.
