I just installed for the first time on this Windows XP installation and it happens to me. Only it isn't just the armor badge. It's every badge or award except for the pins.
Obviously it isn't just him.

It crashes for me on ribbons and badges, didn't try medals. Luckily I don't care, so long as it doesn't crash ingame.

i had this same problem, along w/ not being able to play northern strike since the 1.50 patch. i had an ungodly amount of uninstalls, reinstalls, as well as changing of operating systems & hard drives. i tried registry edits listed in the forum help. manually updating punkbuster didn't do it. i followed ea's directions on some possible fixes. i thought maybe MY download of the 1.50 patch was corrupt, so downloaded alternate versions.

guess what...

the full version of 1.5 is corrupt in some way. you have to use the incremental patch from 1.4 to 1.50.
