I used incremental today and it refused to start until I then ran the full patch over it.

That's weird. It didn't work for me when I ran the 1.5 Full patch.

It only would work if I used 1.4 and the incremental. Of course, I didn't find that out until I had downloaded 1.5. :p

They should both work if you install 1.40 first, I tested them all out once to prove a point.
The incremental might not work if you install it on it's own after BF2142 Deluxe (which patches to 1.40), but I didn't have the Deluxe version to verify this.

Both *should* work fine, but obviously there's a mistake somewhere. :p

More likely than not, though, they'll fix this with the next update (which I hope is coming soon).

Thx everyone I recently reinstalled everything and got this error. I will go home and experiment later and hopefully get it all sorted out.

i got this error when i bought ns off the ea store.
i tried the uninstall, install, patch, install ns, repatch but it didnt work so I emailed EA, within an hour they emailed back telling me this

Following this installation order should correct this error:

1. Install the base 2142 game, either off the CDs, or from the download center.

2. Install 1.40 : http://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/pat...pdate_1.40.exe

3. Install Northern Strike.

4. Reinstall 1.40

5. Install 1.50 patch: http://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/pat...pdate_1.50.exe

Please follow the above order after uninstalling the game. For instructions to manually uninstall the game, please visit the following URL:

I decided I'd try this one more time and surprisingly it fixed it
