I need some help!
I just purchased a new copy of this game & I'm frustrated like hell. I installed it & when I tried to run the Single Player Mode I run into a bunch of problems.
The first time I tried to run the game, the game started & the screen resolution resized (my screen resolution was set at 1600x1050). I could tell the game was changing the resolution because the mouse pointer got bigger. I went through the splash screen (the Infinity Ward logo, etc.), created my username & then the game immediately minimized to the taskbar. Every time I tried to maximize the screen or switch to the game from the taskbar in Windows, it resized to the lower resolution then minimizes again to the taskbar. All the while, I could hear the game running in the background because the audio isn't effected at all. It's only the display of the game that is effected. Despite my best efforts, I could never get the screen stay maximized, it just continues to minimize immediately after I click on the game from the taskbar. Eventually, I have to go to the Task Manager to close the game out by ending the process.
When I first ran Multiplayer mode, it started up just fine...that is until I tried to change the game resolution from it's default to 1600x1050. After that, the same issue with the game minimizing started happening again.
So I uninstalled the game completely & reinstalled and applied the latest patch (1.6, I believe). Now the game won't start at all & it's keeps on telling me to "Insert the correct DVD-ROM". This happens for both Single & Multiplayer modes.
I have DirectX 10 & 9.0c (installed from the CoD Disk) & the latest drivers for my video card installed. Here are my system specs:
OS: Windows Vista 32-Bit, Ultimate Edition (SP1)
Processor: Intel E4500 2.2GHz (OC'd to 3.0GHz)
MB: GigaByte GA-P35-DS3L (rev. 2.0)
Monitor: Acer P-Series 22" LCD (P221WBD)
RAM: 4GB Geil Ultra DDR2-PC6400
Video: EVGA 8800GTS 640MB
Audio: Sound Blaster Audigy SE
HD: 250GB Seagate (SATA) + 500GB WD Caviar (SATA) + 250GB Seagate FreeAgent External (USB)
If any of you have any ideas, I'd be grateful to hear them. I just wanna play!
